RENEWING OUR CONSECRATION TO MARY

THURSDAY OF THE THIRD WEEK OF EASTER

Tomorrow, Most Reverend Jose H. Gomez, the Archbishop of Los Angeles and President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, will offer prayers on behalf of the entire country, consecrating the United States to Mary, Mother of the Church.

Through these prayers, we will entrust our nation, our diocese, our church, our families, and ourselves over to the care of our Mother. God entrusted His only son to Mary. Jesus came to us through Mary's "yes." It gives God great pleasure when we offer ourselves to the Lord through His Mother. When we surrender ourselves to Mary, we present to Her all that we have, spiritual and material, and ask that she use all of our actions and prayers for the greater glory of God, now and throughout eternity.

During this time of great need, we ask Mother Mary to intercede for us to Her Son. Let us turn to the Blessed Virgin Mary in prayer with our Church tomorrow as we consecrate ourselves to her.

There will be a short liturgy with the prayer of re-consecration tomorrow, Friday, May 1, at 1 P.M. MT. You can join Archbishop Gomez, your bishops, priests, and all of the faithful on facebook.com/usccb for the live presentation.

There is also a worship aid available for you to download: http://www.usccb.org/about/communications/consecration-resources.cfm
