DAY 28: LOUISIANA

Louisiana is my home. I've moved around plenty and currently call Jackson, Wyoming, my place of residence. But Louisiana is my home. There is no place in the world like South Louisiana. The culture is rich, the people are generous, and our Catholic traditions shape everything.

Today, as the cases of Covid-19 skyrocket in Louisiana, Governor John Bel Edwards called his people to a day of prayer and fasting. Not many governors would lead their state in prayer, and not many states would elect a Catholic governor that might suggest such a thing. (Can you imagine that happening in Cali?) In a state where nearly half the population is Catholic (42%), and there might be more Catholic churches than Starbucks, people don't shy away when you talk about God. And they believe that prayer and fasting can make a difference. No matter where you call home, let's join Gov. Edwards in asking the Lord to heal His people. #livinglent2
