DAY 22: ONE, HOLY CATHOLIC CHURCH

This morning, I sat down at my computer to write my daily post. The tab was open to FB, and at the top of that feed was Fr. Chris was beginning daily Mass. Watching the Mass with me were old friends: Kathleen, Taylor, Dottie, Tammy, Katie. Along with us, over 130 people were at Mass this morning.

The Catechism says, "In Christian usage, the word "church" designates the liturgical assembly, but also the local community or the whole universal community of believers. These three meanings are inseparable. "The Church" is the People that God gathers in the whole world. She exists in local communities and is made real as a liturgical, above all, a Eucharistic assembly. She draws her life from the word and the Body of Christ, and so herself becomes Christ's Body." (CCC752)

Fr. Chris made it possible this morning for a church, a body of believers, to gather together today. On any other day, it would not have been possible for me to be at Mass with him or my DOBR friends. Despite this weird circumstance, Father has found a way to gather His Church.

I don't believe in luck; I believe in God. I believe that this morning God knew the very thing I needed was Him and His Church. #livinglent2
